In 2002-03 the Legal & Archives Committee: 1) continued to maintain records of all governing council communications and arranged for multiple back-up copies of all internal correspondence, 2) formalized the C&P organizational structure(s), filing C&P Articles of Association (adopted at the 2002 annual meeting) with the North Carolina Secretary of State (formal incorporation records currently archived by Jim Sanders with copy forwarded to Louise Allen), 3) reviewed policies of C & P and the Council, providing clarifications as needed at the annual meeting and on-line dialogue between meetings, 4) worked with treasurer, Louise Allen to secure a federal tax identification number (a.k.a. EIN or employer identification number) and currently archiving this document. 5) acquired all necessary Internal Revenue Service forms for filing a Curriculum and Pedagogy Group's application for a (501)(c)(3) federal tax exempt status, as directed by the Council and Chairperson. 6) photographically documented selected portions of the conference (forwarding CD with all jpeg images to Karen Anijar, web mistress d' jour), videotaped the first town hall assembly in 2003/Decatur. In addition to the above prescribed duties of the Legal and Archives Committee, chair Sanders, acted as an interim secretary at Governing Council assemblies during the 2003 meeting, until a new Secretary (Chris Higgins) was elected.
